DB Schmitt Wine Tasting with Winemaker Bianka Schmitt @ Color de Vino - 2-4pm November 9th

Bianka and Daniel Schmitt are two talented young winemakers who produce biodynamic wine “only from grapes” in Rheinhessen. DB Schmitt's wines are pure and fresh, full of personality and life. Rheinhessen is the largest wine-growing area in Germany and has so far been largely associated with mass production. In recent years, however, the region's reputation has begun to change as a new generation of younger, more innovative winemakers are reducing yields and refining the largely undervalued terroir of this region.

Bianka and Daniel are the epitome of this new wave of German winemakers who are working hard to produce wines of the highest quality with as little intervention as possible. We count them among the Natural wine Pioneers in Germany and are happy to have Bianka coming by for a visit. Pop in anytime between 2-4pm and be the first to taste through her amazing lineup of wines, hear her stories, and ask her all the questions!

You have two choices this holiday season - use the order form like usual, or come and taste these (and some very exclusive event only wines) with us @ Sherbrooke. It will be a night of savings, sips and learning about some very fun new wines on the way.

Larry's Night @ Relish Bar and Market - November 23rd, 6pm

As many of you know, Larry, our special cat executive officer, and forever best boy, crossed the rainbow bridge this summer. If you knew me at all, you know how incredibly loved, and how immeasurably missed he is, and always will be. I knew when I looked at the empty couch for the first time, and came home and no longer had him lazily waiting for me on my bed, or expertly sniffing my glass of wine; I needed to do something positive with this grief. So, I started fostering, and knew that an event where we could give back to the community who has been so incredible was exactly right. ♥️

Please join us on Sunday November 23 @ 6 or 8:30pm for a special evening of glass (and unicorn) pours in which proceeds will go to Edmonton Cold Weather Animal Rescue Society, who help rescue and support distressed animals all year round. I say this with my whole heart - the volunteers who run this are amazing, helping rescue thousands of cats since their inception.
