Das Juice wines Garneau Block
 

Das Juice is Tom Audas and James Sheer, Australian sommeliers and directors of Lo-Fi Wine Imports. With an accumulated eighteen years plus experience in the wine industry, Audas and Sheer have collectively worked at some of Australia’s and the worlds best restaurants including the Michelin-starred Noma in Copenhagen. They import/distribution company Lo-Fi Wines has been introducing Australians to the best of local and international natural wines for seven years now. They focus on wines that are sustainable in the vineyard with a low-interventionist style in the cellar. This philosophy is something they carry through to their range of Das Juice Wines, which was born out of the demand for well-priced, well-made wines that align with this ethic and fill a gap in the market. After three vintages of trial and error there is now a full range of Das Juice Wines including a Col Fondo style Prosecco from Victoria and four still wines sourced from organic and Biodynamic Vineyards from across south Australia. These wines are produced with help from winemaking friends from across these regions and wouldn’t be possible without their expertise to bring this project to life. The Das Juice lineup is the true definition of Lo-Fi wines. Authentic wines made with integrity, naturally fermented, nothing added, nothing taken out, no fining or filtration and a minimal dose of sulphur at bottling. As with all our producers, we will be donating part of the proceeds from sales to a non-profit close to our heart. For Das Juice, we have chosen to donate to The Black Youth Helpline. Das Juice Maceration Garneau Block

Maceration 2022

20% Arneis, 30% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Riesling, and Muscat 40%.

2022 Das Juice Maceration - McLaren Vale 
Our skin contact wine is a blend of 20% Arneis (Peters Creek Vineyard), 30% Sauvignon Blanc (Peters Creek), 10% Riesling (Wait Vineyard) and two parcels of Muscat (Zerella) 40%.Grapes were picked separately, destemmed and kept on skins (12-20 days) until sugar dry before being pressed to the same tank. Kept on full solids for 5 months.
30ppm SO2 addition prior to bottling.

The tropics have arrived and with them the full spectrum of a generous fruit salad. Chalky texture sitting behind plenty of mineral drive.

Das Juice Red Garneau Block

Red 2022

65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot.

12.2% ABV

Notes from Das Juice:

Our juicy light red is perfect with a chill. 

65% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Hickinbotham vineyard run by Yangarra in the high part of Clarendon. 25% Cabernet Franc from Chalk Hill and the remaining from Merlot 10% from Zerella. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot were both 100% whole bunch carbonic gassed and sealed for 12 days while the Franc was half direct pressed and half destemmed and on skins for a week. All combined once dry to tank to sit on full solids for 5 months.

A juicy light red with dark blue fruit and delicate tannins. A modern take on the Cab Sauv blend with lightness and ease. Ideal with a chill.

40ppm SO2 addition prior to bottling.

Das Juice Rose Garneau Block

Rose 2022

65% Cabernet Franc, 15% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Tempranillo

13.5 % ABV

Notes from Das Juice:

65% Cabernet Franc (Chalk Hill), 15% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Tempranillo from the Peters Creek Vineyard on the high edge of McLaren Vale. Whole bunch pressed, slow naturel ferment in tank, racked and kept on light solids for 5 months. 35ppm SO2 addition prior to bottling.

It’s really fresh with notes of unripe strawberry and sour cherry and rosehip.

Das Juice White Garneau Block

White 2022

45% Sauvignon Blanc, 35% Semillon and 20% Riesling

12.6% ABV

Notes from Das Juice:

The 2022 white is 45% Sauvignon Blanc from Brackenwood, 35% Semillon from Magpie Springs and 20% Riesling from Brackenwood. The wines were processed separately, de-stemmed, then pressed to tank for a slow naturel ferment. On full solids for 5 months.

35ppm SO2 addition prior to bottling.

Citrus highs and herbaceous lows. A wicked punch of acid with lime cordial notes that takes the typical 'SSB' blend to new heights. Picnic wine.

Das Juice Pet Nat Garneau Block

Prosecco Pet Nat 2022

95% Glera (Prosecco), Muscat

12.2% ABV

Notes from Das Juice:

95% Glera from the steep Peters Creek site with a small amount of Muscat from Zerella our juice addition. Glera fermented dry on full solids while the Muscat held back as juice and added to the ferment pre-bottling.

15ppm SO2 addition prior to bottling.

A peachy-pear fizz with plenty of sunshine inside.

Das Juice Pink Pet Nat Garneau Block

Pink Pet Nat 2022


75% Pinot Gris, 25% Shiraz

13% ABV


Notes from Das Juice:

75% Pinot Gris from Petrucci & 25% Shiraz from the Aramis Vineyard in McLaren Vale. Gris was picked first and fermented on skins for five days with the shiraz picked and added to the press. Sent to bottle when down to 14g/l.
15ppm SO2 addition prior to bottling.

The resulting wine has a lovely element of grip, bright fruit and crunchy red apple characters.
